About FunDive

FunDive is an open-source, non-profit project that exists for the benefit of the dive community. It is free software under the AGPL-3.0-or-later, and it stays that way: anyone may use it, study it, change it and share it, and no one can take it private.

Who makes it

FunDive was co-created in 2026 by Eric Odle and Billy Evalt, and is maintained by Eric Odle. It does not sell anything, and it carries no commercial tier: the version in this repository is the whole thing.

Thanks to Fun Divers Taiwan

Fun Divers Taiwan, a dive shop in Taipei, helped field-test FunDive: running it in real day-to-day shop operations, with real divers and real bookings, and reporting what worked and what did not. They did this as a way to give back to the dive community. That help shaped a great deal of the app, and it is gratefully acknowledged. Where these docs mention "the reference shop" or the first deployment, that is the field test they mean.

Getting involved

Anyone can fork FunDive, run it for their own shop, or contribute changes back. See CONTRIBUTING.md for how contributions are licensed and signed off.
